CC-BY-NC-ND-4.0
This catalog presents anaglyphs constructed from stereo images acquired during ESA's Rosetta mission to comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko.

Following a long journey with gravity assists, asteroid flybys, and a wake‑up from deep‑space hibernation, the Rosetta spacecraft reached the comet to perform several months of observations.
[Learn more about the mission](https://rosetta-3dcomet.cnes.fr/documentation#the-rosetta-mission)

The high spatial resolution stereo imaging was performed by the OSIRIS Narrow Angle Camera (NAC) in various spectral bands ranging from the ultra-violet to the near infra-red.
[Learn more about OSIRIS](https://rosetta-3dcomet.cnes.fr/documentation#the-osiris-nac-instrument)

All NAC images were corrected for instrumental effects and calibrated.
[Learn more about the images processing](https://rosetta-3dcomet.cnes.fr/documentation#the-processing-of-the-osiris-images)

Anaglyphs were created by selecting image pairs with suitable parallax from Rosetta’s shifting viewpoint, correcting illumination inconsistencies, and processing them through alignment, brightness matching, and anaglyph‑generation softwares.
[Learn more about anaglyphs creation](https://rosetta-3dcomet.cnes.fr/documentation#the-construction-of-the-stereo-anaglyphs)

Each anaglyph is described by 17 parameters detailing its location, geometry, and imaging context, including global and regional positioning on the comet and metadata about distance, scale, parallax, and features of interest.
[Learn more about anaglyphs parameters](https://rosetta-3dcomet.cnes.fr/documentation#the-parameters-of-the-anaglyphs)

The catalog is organized in five main sections: **All anaglyphs**, **Favorites** highlights the most spectacular anaglyphs, **Features** regroups anaglyphs of particular topical interest (Abydos, Agilkia, Jets, Pancake, Philae, Pits, and Rings), **Nucleus components** offer 3D views of the three components of the nucleus (Big and small lobes and neck), and **Regions** offers 3D views and short descriptions of the 26 regions delimited on the nucleus.

Use good red/cyan glasses, a compatible screen, and low lighting to get the best 3D view of the anaglyphs.
[Learn more about how to best view the anaglyphs](https://rosetta-3dcomet.cnes.fr/documentation#how-to-best-view-the-anaglyphs)

A new 3D model of the nucleus of comet 67P with 132 million facets was built from thousand of post‑perihelion images, offering far higher detail than previous models and enabling stereo movies viewable with red/cyan glasses.
[Learn more about the 3D model](https://rosetta-3dcomet.cnes.fr/documentation#the-global-high-resolution-shape-model-of-the-nucleus-of-67p)
The localization of the anaglyphs on the nucleus of comet 67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko relies on the **SHAP7** 3-dimensional shape model constructed by Preusker et al. (2017), Astronomy ans Astrophysics DOI: https://doi.org/10.1051/0004-6361/201731798. However, this model has 44 million facets, far too much for this purpose. A decimated model with 125,000 (125k) facets as created by Thomas et al. (2018), Planetary and Space Science, DOI: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.pss.2018.05.019 was found adequate and also used for the visualization of the regions on the nucleus. Their original VTK file was converted to the OBJ format to facilitate visualization in general-purpose 3D software environments such as Blender, MeshLab and Unity. The OBJ file preserves the surface mesh geometry but may not include all scientific metadata present in the original VTK file (e.g., scalar fields or region definitions).
The newly developed high-resolution, three-dimensional shape model **67P-132M** of comet 67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko presented in this catalog has 132 million facets. It is available as a binary PLY file (7 GB) which can be obtained upon request from: David.Romeuf@univ-lyon1.fr, guillaume.faury@utoulouse.fr, or philippe.lamy@latmos.ipsl.fr"
